Tell your friends, tell your neighbors. On November 7, we have a chance to send someone to Washington who will work for the best interests of the people in Minnesota's Second District. If we blow that chance, we'll get two more years of John Kline's rubberstamp support for George Bush and his policies.
And whatever you do, make sure you help turn out the vote!
- Coleen believes every American should have affordable health care.
- Coleen believes we must end our addiction to oil by putting the full faith and credit of the U.S. behind alternative energy technologies.
- John Kline wants to privatize Social Security.
- Coleen will truly support our veterans in a way John Kline has not, working for full concurrent receipt of benefits for disabled veterans, expanding TRICARE coverage to the Reserves and National Guard, and the Assured Funding for Veterans Health Care Act.
- Coleen supports the comprehensive solution to immigration offered by John McCain, Ted Kennedy and George Bush. John Kline criticizes this solution but does not say how he will deal with the estimated 11 million undocumented workers already in the U.S.
- John Kline trusts George Bush’s 'war on terrorism' is making us safer. Coleen believes that the Bush Administration’s actions have had the opposite effect but that we can effectively investigate and prevent terrorism without giving up our constitutional rights.
- Nearly $9 billion in Iraq reconstruction funds are missing, war profiteering is rampant, and more than 14,000 U.S. assault rifles, machine guns, and rocket propelled grenades have disappeared. Yet John Kline recently helped sneak through a law ending all oversight of Iraq's reconstruction.
- Coleen Rowley supports a responsible redeployment plan to end the U.S. occupation of Iraq, a plan which is gaining support even among stalwart Republicans like John Kline's hero, James Baker. Kline supports an open-ended commitment of troops and establishing permanent U.S. bases there.
- John Kline voted to end habeas corpus, and trusts George Bush to observe the Geneva Conventions.
- Coleen has an established record of speaking truth to power. She will work to clean up the congressional culture of corruption, restore ethics and accountability to government, and hold George Bush accountable for six years of incompetent leadership.
